Henki was born from a vision: two brothers, a love for the outdoors, and a dream of building a wellness retreat deep in the forests of Muskoka. We imagined a place where people could escape the rush of daily life — immersing themselves in nature, heat, and cold therapy. However, as we set out to bring that dream to life, we ran into a problem: finding high-quality sauna materials in North America wasn’t as easy as we thought.

We searched for quality lumber, premium sauna heaters, and the craftsmanship to match. What we found were long lead times, inconsistent quality, and a lack of products built to withstand the extreme Canadian climate. So, we hired quality-oriented professionals, tested the finest materials on the market, and built a brand that wellness enthusiasts could trust to purchase supplies for their dream projects.

In Finnish, "henki" means "spirit," "breath," and "life force." It captures the essence of what a sauna should be—a place to restore energy, clear the mind, and reconnect with nature. Every product we offer reflects this philosophy, from our wood-burning sauna heaters, to our premium Canadian cedar saunas built to endure the harshest conditions.
